Our Founder
Late Dr. Jay Prakash Nair

Dr. Jayprakash Nair began his journey in animal feed and nutrition in 1979 — driven by a conviction that biotechnology could transform the way animals are nourished. In 1983, he established a start-up focused on designing and developing biotechnologically derived natural products. Eight years later, in 1991, that vision became Zeus Biotech Pvt. Ltd.Under his leadership, Zeus Biotech produced the world’s first feed specific synergistically acting multienzyme supplement POLYZYME® in 1991, and the world’s first broiler feed specific probiotic-enzyme supplement BROZYME® in 1994. His pioneering work laid the foundation for an organisation that continues to lead in animal nutrition science.

- 1979First Steps
Dr. Jayprakash Nair started his journey in the animal feed & nutrition industry, laying the intellectual foundation for what would become Zeus Biotech.
- 1983Designing and Development
Establishment of a start-up involved in designing and development of biotechnologically derived natural products.
- 1991Establishment of Zeus Biotech Pvt. Ltd.
Zeus Biotech Pvt. Ltd. was formally established, dedicated to designing, development & manufacturing of biotechnologically derived natural feed supplements. Introduction of a feed specific probiotic product.
- 1992Research Facility for Innovative Concepts
Setting up of a Research and Quality Control laboratory with a dedicated Microbial Culture Collection Centre. Introduction of probiotic, Yeast, Organic acid & Herb based Natural growth promoter for poultry.
- 1993Solid State Fermentation Technology
Extensive research on SSF technology & establishment of a pilot scale SSF facility for feed specific multienzyme products. Incorporation of Jaysons Agritech Pvt. Ltd. for Dairy, Camel & other ruminant segments.
- 1994First Commercial SSF Facility
Establishment of our first commercial scale solid state fermentation facility to produce feed specific multienzymes from fungal cultures. Incorporation of Zeus Feed Supplements (KENZOE) for liquid and water soluble farm care products.
- 1995World's First Layer & Broiler Specific SSF Enzymes
Introduction of the world's first Layer specific SSF enzyme-based product and Broiler specific probiotic-enzyme combination. Commencement of export activities.
- 1997Rumen Specific Yeast Culture & Organic Trace Minerals
Introduction of RUMIYEAST — a rumen specific product containing Yeast, Aspergillus oryzae & Fermented herb based supplement for Dairy. Introduction of highly bioavailable multistage SSF based Organic trace mineral products.
- 2004Research on New Probiotic Strains
Initiated research on novel probiotic strains to address the latest challenges faced by the industry.
- 2005Contract Manufacturing
Started contract manufacturing of feed supplements for various leading brands in domestic & international markets.
- 2008Second Manufacturing Facility
Established the second manufacturing facility dedicated for SSF of feed specific products. Modernisation and expansion of Research, Quality Control & Culture Collection centre.
- 2013Submerged Fermentation Plant
Installed submerged fermentation plant dedicated for bacterial and yeast based probiotic manufacturing.
- 2016Largest SSF Facility
Setting up of the third and our largest SSF facility to cater to the growing demand of SSF based products.
- 2018State of the Art R&D Centre
Commissioning of a state of the art R&D centre with specialised equipment, fully fledged Microbial Culture Collection centre, Quality Control & Feed Analysis laboratory.
- 2021International Accreditation of R&D Centre
Accreditation of Feed Analysis Laboratory by NABL for ISO 17025.
- 2023Two Process Patents Awarded
Fermented Organic Trace Minerals (FOTM): Awarded process patent for our proprietary FOTM production technology — strengthening Zeus Biotech's intellectual property portfolio.
SSF Enzymes: Awarded process patent for our proprietary Solid State Fermentation based enzyme production technology — cementing our position as a pioneer in feed specific enzyme science.
